- May 26-28: Evaluation period will continue through our Summer Clinics to reevaluate or for those who did not make the "Early Tryout."
- June will hold our "Open Tryouts."
What to expect with Architects...
What if you can’t make tryouts?
- Attend as many Summer Clinics as possible in June to get to know the club, and so the club can get to know you.
- Communicate with the coach of your age group and the club director that you will be missing tryouts.
- Understand that we are not allowed to discuss a specific team.
- Follow up via email with both [email protected] and the coach throughout the tryout week.
- There will be opportunities to do a "Late Tryout" if you cannot make it to "Early Tryouts" or "Open Tryouts."

What Are Early Tryouts? Early Tryouts are the first opportunity for athletes to be evaluated for the 2026–2027 Architects Volleyball Club season. These tryouts are designed for players who are serious about joining AVC early, getting in front of coaches, and potentially receiving an early verbal offer. At AVC, we encourage athletes to attend our Summer Clinics leading up to tryouts so players and coaches can get familiar with one another before evaluations begin. |
What Are Open Tryouts? Open Tryouts are important evaluation dates for the 2026–2027 season of the Architects Volleyball Club. This is the main opportunity for athletes to be placed on a team within AVC and is highly recommended for all players interested in joining the club. During Open Tryouts, athletes will be evaluated through competitive drills, skill-based training, and game play in front of AVC coaches. Team placements are often finalized during this period, as roster spots fill quickly. |
What Are Open Tryouts? Late Tryouts are designed for athletes who were unable to attend Early or Open Tryouts or who are still looking for a club placement after teams begin forming. While most of our teams are typically filled during Early and Open Tryouts, there are often remaining openings or opportunities. |

Late Tryouts are conducted on an as-needed basis, beginning in July and continuing through the fall season (typically mid-November), depending on roster availability within the club. Limited roster spots may remain after this phase. |
Important Information
- Athletes should pre-register online before attending.
- The evaluation process will continue through Summer Clinics (May 26–28) for re-evaluations and athletes unable to attend Early Tryouts.
- Open Tryouts will take place in June. The most heavily weighted evaluation period.
- If you cannot attend Early or Open Tryouts, Late Tryout opportunities may still be available, depending on roster needs.
Most teams begin filling during Early and Open Tryouts, so Late Tryouts should be considered a secondary opportunity. If interested, athletes are encouraged to contact the club directly to inquire about current availability.
